So what did I misunderstand? I spoke of documentation coming "with the system", in particular of the books in the Linux Documentation Project, available from ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/doc/LDP . Since the Linux system is free, it seems to me pretty obvious that the documentation that comes with it is also free. I looked for, but did not find, corresponding documentation at the FreeBSD archive site. It is not my aim to start a Linux vs FreeBSD war. In my view both are excellent systems, which work perfectly in my experience. I think FreeBSD documentation could be improved. If you think it is fine that is your privilege. I've really nothing more to say on the subject. -- Timothy Murphy e-mail: tim@maths.tcd.ie tel: +353-1-2842366 s-mail: School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin 2, Ireland
