This is a perfect example of Linux's free-for-all (no, I'm _not_ making a reference to free software) approach .. before you know it, there'll be _two_ different Linux/Alpha kernel source trees. Which one comes on the latest/greatest Linux CD-ROM? Err ... let me put that another way ... which comes with each of the N Linux `distributions'? I'm sorry ... it just seems impossible to take Linux seriously given the nature of it's source tree (well, the kernel source ... no user-land to be found). Y'know .. it just dawned on me to ask .. if Digital _designed_ the box, then why on earth are they doing a 32-bit OS for it? Seems ... `dumb'. >>Thanks for bringing this up, Michael ...
