Which linux was that?  I agree that FreeBSD was a SNAP (heh) to install,
but I found the Slackware release of linux to be rather painless as well.

Yep, it is a treat to use.

Just make sure you buy compatible hardware.  :-)

Yes, for a newbie this part of the procedure can indeed be hard
to deal with.  It's expecially frustrating when you have a largish
scsi disk that fdisk won't fondle until you've put a tiny dos partition
on it to help fdisk along.  :-)
