Chris Torek has never had, to my knowledge, any official connection with the CSRG at UC Berkeley. Prior to working for BSDI, Chris was at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratories. At LBL, Chris ported BSD to the SPARC architecture and made other major contributions to BSD. It is inaccurate, however, to claim he was the "last big BSD developer".
