This is a blatant untruth! FreeBSD is very much and very well supported. 
Perhaps you meant that Linux has a larger installed base and therefore
more support from the user community?

This is entirely subjective. I use both, although when I have a choice
I use FreeBSD, and I find the differences in "usability" to be negligible.
Installing FreeBSD 2.x is at least as friendly as the Slackware install.
