I got problems in installing the XWindows on my machine. Since this procedure should be the same as those Linux or FreeBSD users, if you are one of them, please help me. My video card is Diamond Stealth 64 Video VRAM, with S3-968, When I execute the xf86config, I input the specifications of CTX1562c. Finally, when I execute startx, xterm did appear, but there are some 'residual images' which are vertical stripes like '---' crossing my scree. When I press 'Ctrl-Alt-+' to room, its size also room. When I move mouse to right, it also moves to left with the background. It looks like those stripes sticking with the virtual desk of the XWindwos. I already tried so many combinations try to avoid this problem, but it always remain there.(with different configurati ons, no. of stripes may vary). I also find even if I choose the 'mono-mode' to install, finally, it still comes out as color xterm. I dont' know what's wrong. So, if your monitor is also CTX-1562c, and you are a successful Linux or FreeBSD or NetBSD user, please send me your XF86Config file. I will appreciate it very very much. I-Lin
