    Hrrrmmm... is this why the XFree86 3.1.2 server takes so much
longer to get to the window manager from xdm than 3.1.1?  I've tried
the SVGA, W32, S3 and Mach64 servers and all exhibit the same
behaviour.  Startup time has gone from 4 to 5 seconds to about 15
seconds now.
