I had the same problem with an ESDI drive, it turned out that the disk 
controller was having problems and needed to be replaced. It seemed to be placing
the data down in the same place. If you want an interesting test try this:
rename etc01.71 to bad01 and bin01.46 to bad02 then reload them.
