Hmm, I've never seen these kinds of problems. >Im wondering if its the ne2000 clone cards or a generally weak tcp/ip. Since BSD TCP/IP is *THE* standard for TCP/IP, and it beat up heavily by thousands of sites in the world I doubt the former, and suspect the latter. It could be the clone cards, or even just a bad clone card. I have an SMC Ultra Elite which worked fine for 5 months just go bad on me. I initially blamed it on SCO, but I get the *exact* same behavior running FreeBSD so I'm more likely to blame the hardware now. >Does anyone have any ethernet card recommendations? Or any ideas? The SMC cards are nice, even though the one I hav went bad.
