Hello: I am trying to decide which O/S I want to use for my Apache Server. One of the things I need to do is be able to do virtual domains or multi-homing That's more than one IP address mapped to the same machine. Apache handles this well - up to 255 virtual domains are supported. I was looking into LINUX as an O/S. There are patches for LINUX call dummy drivers that are necessary to implement multi-homing. Also, I heard conflicting information about the number of virtual domains that can be supported under LINUX. I have heard 5 is the limit. This just won't cut it for me. Is BSD better equipped to handle this (ie. not a patch but ready to go ?) Also, is there an O/S limit on the number of virtual domains I can set up under BSD variants ? Finally, where can I get freeBSD and who has the best distribution on something like CD-ROM ? If any one has any information on this topic I would greatly appreciate your comments. Email me at memory@memoryworld.com. Thanks in advance for any help ! Steven Semanoff
