I mean I find it hard to believe that Linux has "10 times as many people" ] The answer to the question whether to install Linux or FreeBSD is, ] unmistakeably, Linux. Because FreeBSD paractically installs itself, and if you are desperate to participate in an install process, that lets FreeBSD right out? 8-). ] A lot of the FreeBSD software is broken. That even includes sh, ] which can't handle the config scripts for some common packages. That would be configure scripts that take specific advantage of the non-POSIX features of BASH, I presume? These would be those configure scripts which lack standards conformance? Not to worry, installing BASH is a one line command as root. ] And make. You need to chuck it out and install GNU make.
