"1542CP"?  What's that?!  I've never seen anything later than the 1542CF.

Things are not happy here.  I wonder if Adaptec has changed the firmware in
an incompatible way here?

Without one of these controllers myself, I can't even test I'm afraid.  Anyone
out there confirm or deny the workability of the 1542CP with FreeBSD?  Anyone
care to send one of these controllers to our hardware testing lab?  We need
more weird/new hardware to test stuff like this out! :-(
