   Your problem is unusual.  If it were a common experience Linux would not be
   popular.  Look for a cause that is particular to  your setup.  Post to the
   c.o.l.* groups.  Even the alpha series kernels (1.3.*) are usually robust.
   If there is a problem with a release  it is replaced (at the ftp sites)
   within a day, maybe two.
