However ed0 (a WD8013EP) keeps timing out when it it is touched by any sort of network command. It is hardwired (via the board jumpers) to port 0x280 and irq 3. I therefore us boot -c to configure these options prior to boot however it still timeout although the kernel detects the card at boot time. I also have an Intel Ethernet Express card installed in the same machine. I tried boot from that as an alternative but the boot kernel panics as soon as it touchs the intel device. In both cases when using one device I disabled the other. Any, help or advice would be much appreciated, I'm currently reduced to using MS-DOG/Winslows on this machine at the moment and we all know how painful that is :-) :-} The HW config is, Intel i486DX (33MHz) 2 ISA Disks 1 AH1542 SCSI Controller 1 Intel Ethernet Express Card 1 WD8013EP 1 1.4GB MAXTOR SCSI disk (SCSI 1) Thanks for any help, Joe -- Joe Drumgoole joed@silverplatter.com Software Engineer SilverPlatter Information NV "All opinions expressed are my own."
