The 1542CP has a new version ID and the driver doesn't "unlock it's
mailbox". I've dropped a patch off available via anonymous ftp at
freebsd.org in "incoming/1542cp.diff". This is untested (no 1542
available) but it should work, and it tries to get around this
problem in the future by treating anything that looks like it is
probably a new board like a new board.

If anyone tests it let me know how it works. The context diff is
relative to -current but will probably work with 2.05 or -stable.
