Well, I figured I'd be fair here. I did get a chance to call the BSDi Tech
support line. The guy knew his stuff and helped me in about 15 minutes with
my problem that has taken me a week and no answers. The Tech support
was pretty impressive.

He told me about the "dig" command (which doesn't exist in HP-UX or Linux that
I know of). I found out that my reverse arp wasn't working because MCI still
owns our in-addr domain stuff. Also, there were admins before me that edited
the DNS stuff manually instead of using config_dns. He was very helpful, and
helped me figure out what had been changed so I could fix another problem I was
having. I half expected them not to support it since we weren't using
config_dns, but they did. That was good.

However, I do have some gripes. I work late hours. They leave at 5pm my
time, I don't even get in until 4pm and if I call then they won't call back
until the following day. Is there an emergency number? or after hour support
line?

We had to extend our service agreement which cost $500. OUCH!!! It would have
been nice if someone responded to my USENET posts so I wouldn't have to pay.

All in all, I use it because I have to, but since I am using it, maybe I'll
learn to like it. Now it is a chore.
