I've since been in touch with someone who *has* one of these and he says that the current firmware is of such poor quality that it's essentially unusable. I guess I will go for the Motorola products after all since they're both cheap and reasonably well debugged. I'm sure that ZyXel will fix things in time, but I guess it's still pretty green. >I have the technical reference for the 2864I, for what it's worth. >The dealer's price on them is $535 ... if you thought they were hot shit >worth the extra money, then we can do a deal for two at closer to $11XX. >The I-U units cost more, of course. Well, the Bitsurfers aren't quite as capable as the ZyXels, but considering that they have a patch now for dealing with async bonding, they do everything I need and at a street price of $399 each. Can't beat that, so I guess I'll go Motorola! Also, I can do 64Kbps on both channels with PacBell since what I've ordered is *centrex ISDN* - my "ISP" is in the same central office as I am (only 1.3 miles away) and this is therefore no problem whatsoever. -- Jordan
