Date: 23 Sep 1995 21:08:08 -0500 Organization: Mississippi State University Lines: 19 Message-ID: <aak2.811907606@Ra.MsState.Edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: ra.msstate.edu X-Newsreader: NN version 6.5.0 #2 (NOV) I am using FreeBSD 2.1.0-950726-SNAP and have been trying to get the printer working. When I type 'dmesg |grep lp' I get : lpt0 at 0x278-0x27f irq 7 on isa lpt0: Interrupt-driven port lp0: TCP/IP capable interface lpt1 not found at 0xffffffff lpt2 not found at 0xffffffff Apparantly lpt0 is the printer port, so I tried 'cat FILE > /dev/lpt0' as root and it said the device is busy ! I tried looking things up under the FAQ and the handbook and the tutorials and all these docs had the printer and parallel port documentation missing. Please help. Thanks.
