For testing purpose, I have set up a FreeBSD workstation in our local net. As NIS Servers we use a Sparc and a Linux box. I get the users and groups from the NIS Server, and all my Users can log in. But id user only shows this groups from the user from the local group file, not the groups which stands in the NIS group. If the main group of the user stands only in a NIS group, id shows for each other group in the NIS map, in which the user is, the name and id from the main group. Its something like this: id kukuk(??) uni-pb(1000), wheel(0) uni-pb(1000) uni-pb(1000) ....
