It is called GAME PROGRAMMING STARTER KIT by Sams Publishing. It is advertised as showing you how to program 2-d games in Visual C++. It costs about US $40. Would caught my eye is that it comes with the complete version of Visual C++ Professional Edition version 1 (on CD); a full 2-d game engine (on CD); TEACH YOURSELF GAME PROGRAMMING IN 21 DAYS ( 900 page book); and TEACH YOURSELF VISUAL C++ 1.0 IN 21 DAYS (on CD). I have thought about learning the C++ language and getting all of the above for only $40 seems to me like a good way to start and see if I like it.
