It compiles easily on Sun and Linux; under FreeBSD, there is no config template for this OS, so I faked it into using bsdi as the OS. Now it compiled. WHen I rdist from Sun to Linux, it works fine. If I repeat the rdist, it works also. When I rdist from Sun to FreeBSD, it works if the file or directory is not present on FreeBSD but when I repeat it, I get a segmentation fault on the FreeBSD side. I get a rdistd.core file on FreeBSD. If I rdist from FreeBSD to Sun or Linux, again the error occurs on the FreeBSD side with a rdist.core generated. Has anyone compiled and run rdist 6.1.0 from Sun, Linux and FreeBSD without problems? I need to be able to rdist from Sun to both Linux and FreeBSD. The stock rdist from FreeBSD would not work at all and complains about version mismatch in all cases. Thanks for any help Raman Padmanabhan MSU Computer Lab raman@clunix.msu.edu
