Date: 16 Sep 1995 03:41:18 GMT Organization: University of California, Berkeley Lines: 24 Message-ID: <43dh0u$a50@agate.berkeley.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: volga.eecs.berkeley.edu Hi: I recently acquired a Panasonic 562-J cuz it was dirt cheap. I checked to make sure that Panasonic 56x's are supported on FreeBSD, and I compiled kernel with the following line: controller matcd0 at isa? port ? bio However, when I boot, it says: matcd0: not found at 0xffffffff I am not sure what the default IRQ and DMA should be, but the CDRom works fine under DOS. Do I need to set the IRQ and DMA to a certain value so that the CDRom will be detacted? It seems that the CDRom works fine with several different IRQ/DMA combo under DOS. If anyone knows how to install Panasonic 56x's properly, please help. Thank you very much! Best Regards. Chun-Yang Chiu ------------------------- cchiu@uclink.berkeley.edu
