I have the Buslogic PCI adapter (946C) in my machine and while the adapter bios claims that synchronous mode is enabled for all the devices, at bootup this is what I get: bt0: Bt946C/ 0-PCI/EISA/VLB(32bit) bus bt0: reading board settings, busmastering, int=11 bt0: version 4.25J, async only, parity, 32 mbxs, 32 ccbs bt0: targ 0 async ^^^^^^^^^^ bt0: targ 6 async Can someone please explain what's going on ? The problem is that the FreeBSD BusLogic driver is out of date with respect to many of the more modern BusLogic boards. Specifically, it reports certain bits in the output of the Inquire Extended Setup Information command incorrectly. I don't believe that this will impact actual operation in any way, but these startup messages should not be trusted. Leonard
