Summary: Problem with bootinst usage after installation of FreeBSD 2.0.5
Keywords: Boot Manager Installation Bootinst

Hi folks,

I'm a Linuxer switching to FreeBSD, at least I try too, and bought
Walnut Creek's CDROM with version 2.0.5. I had some problems with the
installation but I want to keep DOS/Windows, Linux and FreeBSD
for a better comparison of some programs.

As I understand it bootinst gets the information from the file boot.bin.
But how or when can I write this?
I started bootinst with no filename but as I understand its function
it installed boot.bin anyway. Luckily I'm still able to boot DOS with
F1 and FreeBSD with F3 and F4 (why that?) but have to start Linux by
a bootable floppy.

Any hints or recommmendations are welcome. Especially because I'm still
looking for _any_ documentation. On Linux there were tons of information,
but here is no directory /usr/doc and I found no hint on what to
read (beside some O'Reilly books).

Thanks
