You have to use -ldescrypt as -lcrypt (as opposed to -lscrypt).

Note that the default MD5 encryption is stronger than DES.


Btw., you've sent several problem reports recently, but all mails to
you bounce with something like /foo/bar/...: permission denied.  Hence
you didn't get the questions and answers to those reports.

(I think it's possible to query the GNATS database by mail.  Ask
majordomo@freebsd.org on how to accomplish this.)
