The odds are that, the irq on the modem is set incorrectly for use with the FBSD kernel . FBSD does not share irqs, in the same manner as MSDOS . Therefore you should set the modem's irq to 9 or 5, and then boot -c and set sio3 appropriately. Gary :-)
