Tried (operative word) to install CAP so I could print to DeskJet. Needless to say, I now have a VERY virgin install of FreeBSD on my machine, and for the life of me, can't recall the steps to get the machine to 'see' the net and to get the net to 'see' the FreeBSD machine. Last lines of boot sequence: writing to routing socket: Network is unreachable add net 224.0.0.0: gateway free.adeptsolutions.com: Network is unreachable I've done the /etc/hosts thing, the /etc/namedb/* thing, nothing! I can't even ping it from my NeXT. Please help! Second Question: where is the ip address stored? Thanks. Please post && e-mail all suggestions. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Roy Lovejoy INET:roy@AdeptSolutions.com Pixel PoohBah ALINK: ............... adept Adept Solutions CIS: .......... 72447,1447 524 Avenida Verde eWorld: .......... adeptsolns San Marcos CA 92069 AOL: .......... adeptsolns ---------------------------------------------------------------------
