Guckux

I have a problem with following configuration:

ASUS SP3, i486DX66, 32MB Ram, NE2000 compatible (ISA), ET4000W32P (1MB/
PCI), Quantum 31250 (ATLAS 2GB).

First installed netBSD with a hercules mono card, only for Textmode, seem
that there are no problems.

For demonstrating XFREE86 ver 3.1, I installed the ET4000W32P, the machine
don't want boot the netBSD. Frustrated about this fact, I installed
FreeBSD 2.0R, it boot fine.

There are no shared or double IRQs, with a cheap noname VGA card, there
wasn't a problem, deactivated onBoard ncr and replaced with an Adaptec
1542C the problem is solved, too...

I've looked in the sources, and find the ncr code from Stefan Esser
(FreeBSD, but no mention about him), it seems to be really old compared to
the FreeBSD version...

any hints?

Bye
     Stefan
