If it's external, it starts a PPP connection to our provider. The default route is properly added to the routing tables (by iij-ppp). When I log in to the FreeBSD machine and do a ping some.domain it starts up PPP, does address resolution and then shows me the results of the ping. That far it works fine. When I do the same ping from a workstation, the packets get forwarded to the FreeBSD machine. PPP starts, but obviously the response packets are not forwarded to the workstation, because I only get a "No response from some.domain" message. My questions are: Do I need to enable "options GATEWAY" and recompile the kernel? Do I need to enable other options? TIA and best regards, Uwe -- Uwe Gruentjes (uweg@gfsfs.gfs-hl.de) GfS mbH, Luschendorf, Germany PGP key avail. Voice +49 4504 8100 36 Fax +49 4504 8100 37
