I have tried unsuccessfully to install 2.0.5R. The machine specs and the error
messages during the failures are below. Any help would be greatly appreciated
:-). I had installed 2.0.5R successfully on that machine (minimal system) at
one time and it was up for a week or so as trial and no problems whatsoever.
I then had to put on some other OSes :-(.
Now I really need to put Freebsd back on BUT I cannot even get through the
installation process and the system crashes with a panic. The errors as seen
on the screen are below verbatim.
The machine specs are:
Zenon Pentium 120MHz with 32MB of memory
Adaptec 2940W Scsi adapter with a Quantum XP34301 scsi disk (4.106GB)
ATI Mach64 video card
WD8013 network card
There is also an IDE CDROM :-( and a scsi sound card (I have taken out
the sound card though)
The aha2940W irq is 11 and the i/o address is 340 while the network card is
at irq 5 and i/o address of 280.
While booting it sees the aha2940W card and the network card too.
As a last reort, I also did a low level format through the scsi utilities
section before trying to do this last install but to no help.
I am doing the installation using ftp.
