I can however recommend the >HP500C - it works for me ! I don't recall what version of Ghostscript comes with Slackware etc., but if you get gs 3.33 sources and compile then the bjc600 is supported. I assume that the bjc600 driver can handle the bjc610e. However, a better driver has been tested and should be included in the next version of gs.
