I find this a bit more informative than the "sleep" message that top normally displays. The diffs are available from: ftp://ftp.orthanc.com/lyndon/ The patch should work with any 4.4BSD derived kernel (i.e. that has the p_wmesg field in the kernel proc struct). It's known to work with BSD/OS 2.0, although the line numbers in the diff will be wrong.
