Help,
I can't seem to get 2.1 (10-4 or 9-28 SNAP) to install. I've had
FreeBSD
on this system for a long time, 1.1.5.1 to 2.0 to 2.0.5. This is what
happens:
After i set the partition size of 300Mb (after a 200Mb DOS partition) i
goto
Label and press "A". This gives me a root, var, swap and usr that all seem
resonable. If i try to "wright" this at this point i get,
"Unable to make new root filesystem, command returned status 1
couldn't make filesystem properly, aborting"
If i don't wright and go on and choose installing from a DOS partition and
to install the Bin, Info and Manpages distributions. and then "commit" i
get
"couldn't get root image from wd0s1 will try to get it from floppy"
If i put the root floppy in the floppy drive it seems to load this and
then
"Unable to transfer th Bin distribution from wd0s1"
I have the floppie immages as well as all three distributions in BOTH the
DOS root directory as well as c:\freebsd.
Seems that the install can't read from my DOS partition or somthing.
can anyone tell me whats wrong?
