When you say run out of memory I guess that you mean that you begin to swap?? Is this a problem?? Even when I have had 15M+ X-server processes I haven't necessarily noticed that the machine was thrashing itself... One solution would be to log off and then kill the server with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace (I assume that you are using xdm). This would free up the X-server memory and allow you to start from scratch. /mark -- +-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-+ | Mark Hannon,| FreeBSD - Free Unix for your PC| mark@seeware.DIALix.oz.au| | Melbourne, | PGP key available by fingering | epamha@epa.ericsson.se | | Australia | seeware@melbourne.DIALix.oz.au | | +-=-=-=-=-=-=-+-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-+
