I had an 8GB SCSI drive as my primary news drive. About 1 week ago the drive starting reporting errors when the nightly server daily run report was done... I fsck'd the drive, but the same night, it reported the same errors. Thinking the drive was physically bad, I put in a 4GB Barracuda. I copied all the info from the 8GB to the 4GB. That night, the daily server report gave the same type of erros and the report was 400K. Here's the questions... 1) I read that when FSCK runs, it is supposed to ask or prompt you as to whether you want to fix it or not. It is not doing so when I manually run fsck. Is there a command line argument to give? 2) Could the file alloc probs on the 8GB been transferred to the 4GB when I did the copy? 3) Is it possible these articles are RECEIVED bad? I don't think so, but its worth asking. Any help would be appreciated. TIA
