What has been suggested here is quite valid. I have just, with a lot of
help form people in this and the demon groups, done exactly what you are
doing.

So, use slurp to collect from your service provided and inn to act as
the nntp server on your gateway machine. You can then either configure
inn to send the mail elsewhere or you can run a newsreader on your own
box, such as tin to read the mail. You can then post news back to
inn, using it as a server, and inn will queue the mail for batch sending
to your service provider. Inn provides the necessary tools to batch
the news back to your provider without special involvement by the
provider.

All of these tools are available on ftp sites. I know that the demon
one ftp.demon.co.uk has them cos that's where I got them.

I am currently running them on freebsd 2.0 so 2.0.5 should be fine. If
you need any help don't hesitate to ask. Although it will be a little
rudmentary as I have only just sorted this out myself.

Cheers

Robin
