Auto probe does not : recognize the drive. Only Panasonic 56x is supported. The info I got on FreeBSD before I bought the CD from Walnut Creek was that Panasonic drives on SoundBlaster Pro adapters were supported. It turned out my Panasonic drive on my SB Pro was not supported, altough it came in the original SB Pro w/ CD-ROM set. The differences between the command sets of the supported 56x drive vs. the unsupported are really small, so it should be rather simple to change the driver to support both. The main change required is that the status bits you need to check to see if the drive is busy are different. I have made a list of all commands of both drives and the mappings between them. I'm just not enough of a device driver hacker to successfully change the driver. If anybody might want to do the neccessary hacking, I'd be glad to give any info I have so far.
