I do not know if this is the proper thing to >do but, it is all i could come up with. often even the manual procedure does not work. Standard install WILL WORK. You have to put the REAL PHYSICAL Parameters of the hd in your Bios: e.g: ST1239: 1272x9x36, don't use TRANSLATION mode. If you have a so called intelligent-ide controller, switch the bios off or use another one. Afterwards standard install should work.
