(Running FreeBSD 2.0.5) The kernel recognizes the drive, including determining the capacity, etc, but I'm having trouble doing anything like "fdisk" or "disklabel". When I run them I get timeouts ala: /kernel sd0(aic0:0:0): timed out I'm obviously doing something wrong, but I'm an idiot, and am not seeing what I've missed. Anybody care to help? Also, at boot time the kernel does not seem to see my 2nd serial port, although the BIOS does see it. Comments again? Finally, the info as seen from 'dmesg' follows (text for devices not probed has been snipped out for clairity): FreeBSD 2.0.5-RELEASE #0: Sat Jun 10 10:46:56 1995 jkh@westhill.cdrom.com:/usr/src/sys/compile/GENERIC CPU: i486DX (486-class CPU) real memory = 4849664 (1184 pages) avail memory = 3563520 (870 pages) Probing for devices on the ISA bus: sc0 at 0x60-0x6f irq 1 on motherboard sc0: MDA/hercules <16 virtual consoles, flags=0x0> sio0 at 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4 on isa sio0: type 16550A sio1 not found at 0x2f8 sio2 not found at 0x3e8 sio3 not found at 0x2e8 lpt0 at 0x378-0x37f irq 7 on isa lpt0: Interrupt-driven port lp0: TCP/IP capable interface lpt1 not found at 0xffffffff lpt2 not found at 0xffffffff fdc0 at 0x3f0-0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2 on isa fdc0: NEC 765 fd0: 1.2MB 5.25in wdc0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7 irq 14 on isa wdc0: unit 0 (wd0): <Conner Peripherals 120MB - CP30104H> wd0: 116MB (237744 sectors), 762 cyls, 8 heads, 39 S/T, 512 B/S aic0 at 0x340-0x35f irq 11 on isa aic0 waiting for scsi devices to settle (aic0:0:0): "SEAGATE ST1480 5232" type 0 fixed SCSI 1 sd0(aic0:0:0): Direct-Access 406MB (832527 512 byte sectors) 1 3C5x9 board(s) on ISA found at 0x300 ep0 at 0x300-0x30f irq 10 on isa ep0: aui/bnc/utp[*BNC*] address 00:20:af:b7:3b:62 irq 10 npx0 on motherboard npx0: INT 16 interface
