It is being done on a Dell Latitude XPi notebook with a port replicator. This notebook has an EIDE hard disk which is accessed using the wdc0 device driver module. The operating system will be installed on this hard disk, but I will also need to attach SCSI tape drives and connect to ethernet. The Dell port replicator has the following devices: SCSI controller: Chip set: Future Domain 9C50; SCSI-2 compliant Data bus width: 8-bit ISA host bus interface Data transfer rate: 2.5 MB/sec I/O address: memory-mapped IRQ line: 11 Ethernet network controller: Chip set: SMC91C92; 10-base-T ethernet Data bus width: 16-bit ISA host bus interface I/O adress (default): 300h IRQ: 10 The release notes for NetBSD 2.1 state that "Future Domain 8xx/950 series SCSI controllers" are supported, but the Hardware documentation guide does not list a device driver under the "FreeBSD GENERIC kernel". Is the Future Domain chip set compatible with another SCSI device, and if so, which one? What (if any) device driver is compatible with the SMC91C92 chip set? Any help is greatly appreciated, Jorgen
