Isn't it some kind of terminal type problem ? I think that IBMs usually claim
to be some kind of strange IBM terminal when doing telnet negotiations.
If you are running AIXWindows you might try 'aixterm -v' to get a window.
You could probably also try running telnet in some kind of debug mode to see
exactly what is happening ( I remember doing this when having trouble from
a RS/6000). Don't remember the exact commands though.
