Keywords: NetBSD, BeBox, port X-Newsreader: TIN [UNIX 1.3 950824BETA PL0] Are any software developers out there thinking of porting NetBSD to the currently 'only available to developers' BeBox? After reading the tech. specs i'm quite impressed and would love to hear that somone is thinking of porting NetBSD to that platform. For the uninitiated, the BeBox's tech specs are... 2 PowerPC 603 CPUs, running at 66 Mhz Supports up to 8, 72-pin SIMMs 1 PC-standard, 1.44 MB, 3.5" floppy disk drive On-board support for both IDE and SCSI devices 3 internal full-length PCI card slots @ 33 MHz 5 internal full-length ISA card slots Supports PCI SuperVGA controllers, such as the #9 GXE 64 Standard PC keyboard connector PS/2 mouse connector Parallel port 2 MIDI ports: one in and one out per channel 4 RS-232 serial ports with 16550 UARTs 16-bit sound system These are a very basic snapshot of the specs, if anyone is interested check out http://www.be.com For the Amigaphiles, many Amiga names (ie: Dave Haynie among others) seem to be following the Be's in comp.sys.powerpc quite closely.
