The plun-and-play is not a bad feature. It is not screwy. The 3C509 card
problem has been discussed for a long time. So, I spent a several days
to fix the bug and send the patch back via send-pr about a couple of
months ago. I did not heard the reply and see the patch applied. I guess
the send-pr may be lost.
I am not sure what happened to above problem. However, use irq 15 for
3C509 card is a better choice. IRQ 10 is often used for many devices.
Typically, if some PCI video card or SCSI card installed, the system
will hang during the booting phase.
