Could you repeat this two line fix, please? For those who have the problem of doing backups and have no tape connected (yet) but have a network: I compiled gnu-tar 1.11.1 and was then able to do tar backups of my 386bsd system to a tape drive connected to a Decstation (Ultrix) (tar cvf decstation:/dev/rmt0h directory) ^^^^^^^^^^^ Works fine. -- --Chris Christoph P.
