As when you start from the CD everything goes ok. The problem happens when you then go to do a standalone boot. The "batch" should get around the problem. I had another PC around with an Adaptec 1452CF controller so I just swapped the controllers and everything went ok. The problem with the batch is that it is a source code fix so its a catch-22 situation as if you can't put in the patch unless you can rebuild the kernel, which you can't do unless you have a system available... Asides from this experience, I am very impressed with the FreeBSD release and ease of installation. I recommend that you give it a go. Regards. John Hartley Graphica Software Pty.
