Hello All:
I am trying to install FreeBSD for the first time so please bare with me.
I need some help getting my adaptec 1542 controler to configure properly.
I boot from a floppy and when it gets to the aha0 I get the following:
aha0: unknown board-VD.0
aha0: reading board settings, dma=5 int=10 (bus speed defaulted)
aha_cmd, cmd/data port full
aha0 at 0x330-0x333 irq 10 drq 5 on isa
aha0 waiting for scsi devices to settle
(aha0:0:0): timed out
adapter not taking commands.. frozen?!
Debugger("aha1542") called.
(aha0:0:0): timed out
adapter not taking commands.. frozen?!
Debugger("aha1542") called.
AGAIN
aha0: MBO 02 and not 00 (free)
(aha0:1:0): timed out
adapter not taking commands.. frozen?!
..
..
..
This message repeates several times but the adapter is never configured.
I boot from a floppy at the boot: I type -c and it boots into config>. I
type probe aha0 and I get the following:
aha0: Unknown board-VD.0
aha0: reading board settings, dma=5 int=10 (bus speed defaulted)
aha0: aha_cmd, cmd/data port full
probe returned status of 0x4
Any help in getting this controler to configure would be greatly
appreciated.
