Lines: 27 Message-ID: <4742fb$maa@news.eecs.nwu.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: bigstar.eecs.nwu.edu After successfully partitioning the rd54 in my handy MicroVAX II with 12 MB or core and copying the miniroot file from TK50 to swap, I'm running into a problem. After loading the gennetbsd kernel, I get the expected series of BSDish messages: ra0 at uda0 slave 0: rd54, size = 311200 sectors tmscp0 at uba0 csr 174500 vec 176, ipl 17 tms0 at tmscp0 slave 0 then it hangs. The instructions in the INSTALL doc say "When kernel is loaded, you will after a while get a question about Root device?. Respond to this with xx?*, where xx is the device name,..." but I think 15 mins is longer than "a while", even on this relic. Any ideas on how to debug this process? The machine boots Ultrix 1.2 just fine :^). -- Chris Walsh finger mack23@eecs.nwu.edu EECS Dept., Northwestern Univ. for PGP 2.6.2 public key Evanston, IL http://web.eecs.nwu.edu/~mack23/
