Message-ID: <1992Sep23.040721.4834@minyos.xx.rmit.oz.au> Date: 23 Sep 92 09:07:21 GMT Organization: RMIT Computer Centre, Melbourne Australia. Lines: 27 I have two more questions about 386BSD (while waiting for the kernel to recompile :-): 1. I have two serial ports on my machine. One has my mouse attached to it, and I want to use the other one to connect to my second PC so I can log in remotely (to do things like kernel rebuilds so I don't have to sit around :-). I can't figure out how I go about setting things up so that I can run Telix on my second PC via a null modem cable to my 486 box... 2. Now that I just about have everything installed the way I want it, it is time to figure out how to back the system up. I looked through the FAQ, but I could not find any info on how to back up the system to multiple floppy disks (3.5in 1.44M). I assume you would use something like tar or cpio, but it needs to be broken up across the disks (similar to the distrution stuff, but on UNIX formatted floppies). Thank, please reply via email. +------------------------------------------+-------------------------------+ | Kendall Bennett, | Internet: | | Advanced Computer Graphics Centre, | kjb@godzilla.cgl.citri.edu.au | | Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, | rcskb@minyos.xx.rmit.oz.au | | Victoria, AUSTRALIA. | | +------------------------------------------+-------------------------------+ | CoSysop (Bossman), PC Connection Australia: +61 3 688 0909 | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+
