No...

The reason is because they are good, fast cards at a reasonable price,
with reasonable driver availability. 

Same reason why the Diamond Speedstar is so popular. Its got nothing 
to do whatsover with information availability, since few people ever
program for the cards. 

Except on the net of course  9-)
