It would be most massively wonderful if the author were to submit this to doc@freebsd.org so that it might be suitably enshrined and preserved for the benefit of FreeBSD users everywhere. 2. I should try it. I dutifully followed all the steps tried to print something. Zilch. Checking the message logs, I saw: Nov 13 14:56:18 time lpd[22403]: cannot execv /usr/local/samba/bin/smbprint Hmmm! Says I. Let's run the filter by hand: jkh@time-> smbprint cat: /usr/local/bin/.config: No such file or directory Hmmmm!! Let's move the .config file into /usr/local/bin from the suggested /var/spool/smb. Now the job queues, but sticks forever. No output. I'm sure I'm just doing something stupid, but any tips would be appreciated! This would be a very convenient thing to do for many people.. -- Jordan
